Nathan has finished in a share of 12th position at the Honda Classic after a battle over the closing stages at the PGA National's Champion Course.

Nathan seemed destined for at least a top five finish for much of the day until disaster struck at the notorious Bear Trap. The 15th, 16th and 17th holes have developed a reputation for bringing a round undone and today Nathan fell victim.

A double bogey at the par three 17th after finding the water saw him slip to 6th position and then a triple bogey at the 17th when Nathan failed to extricate himself from the greenside hazard cost him a triple bogey.

It was still a good week for Nathan but to a large extent one that might have been. He earns US$109,000.

"I struggled with my driver and long irons all day and putted poorly all week," said Nathan after his round. "It was just not good enough. It is back to the drawing board next week to try and stop hitting it like that whenever I'm under pressure. I suppose it was not a bad week overall however but I will take next week off and try and get is sorted."

Nathan will play next in the Transitions tournament at Palm Harbour starting on March 18th.
